About us
Smiling Crocodile, o.p.s. is a unique center that provides comprehensive support under one roof to children with the most severe forms of combined disabilities and their families. Our goal is to offer high-quality, professionally based, and humane services that take into account the needs of the entire family.
We have been operating continuously since 2011 and draw on many years of practical experience and inspiration from abroad. Our team consists of experts with international experience who believe in the power of trust, individualization, and interdisciplinary cooperation.
We run a nursery and primary school for children with severe multiple disabilities, based on our extensive practical experience and educational approaches inspired by the UK and the US. We provide children with maximum individual support, emphasizing the connection between education and therapy and cooperation with the family.
We have a fully equipped physiotherapy and rehabilitation room, three Snoezelen multisensory rooms where other types of therapy take place, and the center also includes a multisensory garden and playground.
An alternative form of early care for children from birth to 4 years of age and their parents. The program offers professional counseling, therapy, and integration activities that naturally follow on from our nursery school.
The aim of our therapeutic services is to develop skills, independence, communication, self-care, and emotional management. We help children relax, relieve pain, and improve their quality of life and that of their families.
This includes a palliative care program, which we implement not only at the center, but also in homes and hospitals.

We help children and their families experience a real sense of belonging in society. We organize projects that naturally connect children with disabilities with their peers, seniors, and the wider community.
Examples include our collaboration with pupils at Open Gate Primary School and a project with seniors in cooperation with the Agora7 Endowment Fund.
We monitor children's educational outcomes and development using international standardized scales. We actively participate in international research projects and collaborate with experts and centers in Czechia and abroad.
Smiling Crocodile also operates abroad, where we help children with hearing and combined disabilities living in extremely disadvantaged conditions, especially in Asia and Africa.

Through the international #BecauseIhearIlive campaign, we raise awareness of the situation of deaf children and children with multiple disabilities in different parts of the world. We draw attention to their right to hear with necessary devices, be educated, accepted, and to have access to the necessary aids and therapies.

Listen with Smile is an international educational app with augmented reality (AR) elements that helps children with hearing impairments develop auditory perception and communication using hearing aids or cochlear implants.
The app contains eight thematic modules (e.g., animals, transportation, the human body) and is designed so that healthy preschool children can also use it.
It is language-neutral and available to everyone on the App Store and Google Play.
Studies from various countries demonstrate its significant contribution to the development of children with hearing impairments.

We provide children with severe multiple disabilities and their families with professional and comprehensive support that enables them to live fulfilling, joyful, and dignified lives.
Our work combines education, therapy, care, and integration, creating an environment where children can develop their abilities, form relationships, and feel accepted. We strive to achieve this not only in our country, but also abroad, where we support children with hearing impairments who live on the poverty line.
We want a world where children with severe disabilities have equal opportunities, access to quality care, and the chance to be respected members of society—not only here, but also where they live in extremely disadvantaged conditions. There are around 14,000 children with severe multiple disabilities in our country.

Contact us at info@smilingcrocodile.org – we will be happy to prepare a donation agreement according to your needs. This can be a financial donation, material support, professional services, or the involvement of your employees.
At the end of the calendar year, we will always send you a confirmation of your donation, which you can use in your tax return.
Individuals can deduct up to 15% from their tax base if:
In practical terms, this means that if the donor has an amount of CZK 1,000 or more on the confirmation, they do not need to check whether it is 2% of the tax base – they only need to check that it does not exceed 15%.
Legal entities may claim gratuitous performance:
According to the donation agreement, the donation may also be provided in several smaller installments, but their total value for the calendar year must be at least CZK 2,000.
